Business Developer and Strategy Advisor
Marc R. Bermann is the founder of MRB Consulting. Prior to founding this consultancy he spent 13 years working as a foundation manager and before that several years managing eMBee Productions Ltd., a TV- and media production company in Shanghai and Hong Kong which he founded and owned. As Director of China Projects at Robert Bosch Stiftung in Stuttgart (from 2007 – 2011) he strategically designed, developed and built up the foundation's China project portfolio and at the same time managed and oversaw the portfolio of journalists' projects across Central and Eastern Europe. As the Head of Stiftung Mercator's China Program and later Director of the Center for International Affairs Marc Bermann was a key figure in designing, founding and establishing the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) in Berlin where he also served as a member of the Advisory Board until March 2020. Over the years Marc Bermann has advised several international companies and organizations in the capacity of intercultural trainer, business developer and business coach. He holds a graduate degree in political science and modern China studies (from the University of Heidelberg and Shanghai International Studies University) and spent his childhood and youth between Germany, the United States and Australia. He is married, has two sons and is a passionate swimmer.
